FORMER Education Minister and senator in the Fifth Senate, Iyabo Anisulowo was kidnapped yesterday.

She was allegedly kidnapped on Wednesday evening, along Imasai Road, close to Ilaro, when she was returning from her farm.

Senator Anisulowo, an All Progressives Congress chieftain, is a former minister of State for Education during late General Sani Abacha’s regime.

She celebrated her 60th birthday last month.

Although the kidnappers were yet to make contact with her family, Zonal Police/Public Relations Officer, Wale Lawal confirmed the abduction to Daily Sun yesterday night.

He assured that the zone was on top of the situation and according to him, the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Lagos and Ogun, Bala Hassan has already deployed five teams, including Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Anti-Crime Patrol teams and Squadron Commander for MOPOL 16.
