Miffed by the reported confrontation between former governor of Imo State, His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha and traditional ruler of Obinugwu community in Orlu Local Governments Area of the state,  HRM Eze Cletus Ilomuanya aboard  Air Peace flight where it was alleged that the Eze attacked Okorocha with his walking stick,  the Eze Ndigbo Ghana, HRM Dr Chukwudi Ihenetu has appealed to the two illustrious sons of Imo to end their fight in the interest of Ndimo at home and in the Diaspora.

In a statement, Eze Ihenetu said “Both Okorocha and Eze Ilomuanya are two great sons  of Imo who at one time or the other has made Imo people proud through their contributions to the task  of state and nation building. I am surprised that even  8 years after leaving office as governor of the state, the misunderstandings between Okorocha and  Eze Ilomuanya still persists.”

While appealing to Eze Ilomuanya to let go and forgive Okorocha of any perceived provocative actions that he may have exhibited towards him while he was governor, he said time will eventually heal all the wounds in the land.

In the same vein, Eze Ihenetu who has worn several awards as peace ambassador commended Okorocha for not retaliating during the fight. he urges him to mend fence with Eze Ilomuanya in order to promote peace in Orlu and Imo state in general. In his words, Eze Ihenetu said: “Every leader in the cause of service is bound to step on the toes of some of his followers. It is the responsibility of His Excellency, Okorocha to make peace with some people he may have conciously or unknowingly offended in his  8 years service as governor in the state. Such move will not only promote peace but will also make him a statesman in Imo and Nigeria at large.”

On the implications of such confrontations on Imolites at home and  in the Diaspora if unchecked, Eze Ihenetu said people will begin to see Ndimo and Ndigbo as uncivilized and uncultured people that lacks respect and decorume.

The royal father call on all and sundry to eschew rancour and bitterness but instead focus on policies that will entrench good governance in the state.
