Former leaders of various markets’ associations in Abia State, under the aegis of Concerned Ex-Leaders of Market Traders’ Associations (CLOMATA), Abia State, have thrown their weight behind the governorship bid of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Uche Ogah.

In a statement signed by Chairman and Secretary, Chief Obiora Okeke and Ohazuruike, respectively, the group decided to endorse Ogah after its meeting held in Aba.

The statement said Ogah’s endorsement came after the body painstakingly went through the profiles of all the candidates in the race, and arrived at the conclusion that the APC’s flag bearer has what it takes to liberate Abia from its backwardness.

“We members of CLOMATA have, after our recent meeting, held in Aba, Abia State, decided to support and canvass for votes for the governorship candidate of APC, Dr. Ogah, in the coming election.

“CLOMATA took the decision after carefully looking at the profiles of all the candidates of the various political parties jostling for the governorship position in Abia and came to the conclusion that, having excelled as a private businessman, Ogah is in a pole position to liberate Abia from its backward state.”

Urging all traders in Abia to vote for Ogah, CLOMATA said it was optimistic that if voted into power, the APC governorship candidate was going to stop multiple taxation that have weighed heavily on the traders.

CLOMATA equally stated that it was convinced that Ogah, as governor of the state, would give traders in Abia free hand to elect their leaders than the present practice, whereby government appoints the leadership of the association of various markets at the detriment of the traders.

“It is based on these and added to the fact that our woes would be over, that we asked traders in Abia State to come together and work for the success of Ogah at the polls.”
