Co-Founder of Zikel Cosmetics Limited, Mrs  Njideka Ezike, explains why this could be so, saying: “If you want your makeup to stand out, look good and last long, the  first thing you should think of is your skin. The skin is where everything stays on, so if you do a good skin work the rest is like extra. If you do your skin prepping, by using good moisturizer, toners and serum. These are the basic things you need for your skin work, then your makeup would sit on it well.

“But if your skin work is being questioned, every other thing you have to do is to maintain it. One thing about makeup is blending. Prepping the face gives it the tendency to absorb what you are giving it. The items required for effective makeup, include moisturizer, foundation, powder, blush, lip gloss (either matte or gloss) and glow kit or whatever you need to make the skin glow and make your highlighting area pop out.
