An expert in brick blocks moulding has advocated that Nigeria should take science and technology seriously in its quest to lessen dependence on foreign materials in the country.
Mr. Olawole Augustine, an industrial blocks moulder said that if successive governments in Nigeria have taken science and technology and what could come therefrom seriously, the country would have been self reliant in certain goods we import from abroad.
Augustine noted that the economic landscape of the world is undergoing remarkable changes, which is creating considerable opportunities and new challenges through science and technology.
He said that as a nation we have all it takes to enter into this arena of the global community dominated by a deluge of innovations in science and technology. “Obviously, considering the rich human and material resources of the nation, what we need to keep at par with the international community is to set our priority right, by recognizing the place of science and technology and its integration in our national life.
According to him, “Technology has virtually taken over every life activities both in the developed and developing nations. The extent to which people relies on technology has made it easy for people to carry out jobs that hitherto would have taken ten days done within few hours. Of course, technology has been effective in all sectors of human endeavours and in real estate, the innovation brought in through technology cannot be overemphasized.
“Real Estate has evolved tremendously more thanks to technology which has made designs and operations, recordings and implementation very easy. Emerging technologies have substantially disrupted many industries. From on-demand app development to the Internet of Things, recent advancements are making everything from ordering food to adjusting the thermostat more efficient.
“The real estate sector, however, has been slow to keep up with the times. That needs to change. New tech has the potential to revolutionize this market. Real estate professionals who adopt these innovations sooner rather than later stand to benefit. The following examples illustrate how,” he stated
