The Eze Ndigbo Ghana and Assistant Publicity Secretary, Association of Ndieze Ndigbo in the Diaspora, HRM Eze Dr Chukwudi Ihenetu has commended Southern Governors Forum over their recent resolutions on how to move the country forward.  

After their meeting in Lagos, the governors came out with a resolution that the presidency should be rotated among the various zones in the country and that open grazing should be banned.

In a statement, the royal father whose efforts in conjunction with Nigeria High Comisssion in Ghana has on several occasions resolved trade conflict between Nigerian Traders in Ghana and the Ghanian Trade Union said the decision by the governors if adhered to, could end  fear of marginalisation and insecurity in the country.

On Insecurity, Eze Ihenetu condemn kidnapping in the North especially in Kaduna where hundreds of school children were abducted from their schools by suspected bandits. He lamented that development like this potrays Nigeria as a failing state before the international Community.

“I am deeply concerned about insecurity and other act of criminality in my country Nigeria. This development has made many companies to relocate while those intending to establish new factory prefer to go to neighboring countries. this ugly trend worsen problem of unemployment in the country,” he said.

While also commending the governors on their continuous support for one strong united country, HRM Ihenetu equally tasked them to address the corruption in the civil service. “It is allerged that cases of corruption is rampant among the civil servants as contracts awarded in most cases are inflated and poorly executed, while security votes meant to complement efforts of security agents are often diverted for other ulterior purposes. Ugly development like this often erode the trust of the people in there leaders”, he said.

Furthermore, HRM Ihenetu equally agree with the governors call on fair trial for  all arrested suspects and for law enforcement agents to always carry governors of states along whenever they intend to carry out arrests in states in order to avoid confusions.

in his words of advice to the governors, HRM Ihenetu urges them to create employment as well as embark on infrastructure development. He said it is only through these means that the masses  can truely enjoy dividends of democracy.
