The Eze Ndigbo Mekong River  Asia, HRH, Eze Jerome Uzochukwu Ezeneche (Eze Nwatagwuosimiri) has rejoiced with new president General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, Amb. George Obiozor on his election as President General of the  socio cultural group.

In a statement, Ezeneche who is also king of six nations said Ndi Igbo in Mekong are pleased with his emergence as PG of Ohanaeze worldwide.

While charging Amb. Obiozor to move with agility in tackling problem of marginalisation facing Ndigbo in Nigeria, the royal father said all eyes are on the diplomatic Ohanaeze boss on how he will lead the Igbo nation through the stormy political water of 2023.

While commending immediate past PG, Chief Nnia Nwodo for his ability to fearlessly confront enemies of Ndigbo without let up, Ezeneche charges Obiozor to deploy his diplomatic acumen in tackling numerous problems facing Ndigbo at home and in the Diaspora.

On how he has been handling affairs of Ndigbo in Mekong, Ezeneche known for his humanitarian and philanthropy in Asia said COVID-19 posed serious challenge as many businesses were locked down. He said despite these obstacles, he was able to reach out to Ndigbo in Mekong and his home state where foodstuffs and cash were made available as palliatives to the needy.

While wishing the new PG successful tenure, Ezeneche urges him to always put Igbo matters first ahead of other interests in the country.
