Following peaceful election of Igbo apex socio cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo which saw emergence of Amb. George Obiozor as the new President General, the Eze Ndigbo Ghana, HRM Eze Dr Chukwudi Ihenetu has described Obiozor’s victory as a good news for Ndigbo worldwide.

In a statement made available to Daily Sun, the royal father said with emergence of Obiozor as the PG, the Ohanaeze can now settle down for the task of moving the Igbo nation forward.

While commending other contestants who at different stages stepped down for the emergence of Obiozor, Eze Ihenetu urges them to take the outcome of the election in good fate and see it  as a victory for Ndigbo.
In the same vein, the royal father who has won several awards as a global peace ambassador call on the new PG to be magnanimous in victory by bringing Ndigbo under one umbrella in unity.

He said it is only through this measure that other ethnic groups will give the Igbo nation the respect they truly deserves.

While setting agenda for the new Igbo leader, Eze Ihenetu advise the new PG to create a very strong committee that would see to the affairs of  Ndigbo in the Diaspora because  Igbo sons and daughters are all over the world. “He should create a committee to over see the welfare of Ndigbo abroad”.

Furthermore, the royal father also task Ambassador Obiozor to create a committee that will work with Ndigbo in Diaspora on how they can invest in Alaigbo.

“Again, I appealed to Amb. Obiozor to work with Igbo traditional rulers in the Diaspora because as head of Igbo culture and traditions outside Igbo land, these Ezes ensure that our rich Igbo culture and traditions are passed to our children.  This measure will safeguard especially our language from extinction.

“We Igbo all over the world see Ohanaeze PG as our president and as such he should bear in mind that Igbo all over the world believe that with his CV and past sterling records, he can move Igbo nation forward.”
