The Eze Ndigbo Ghana,  HRM Eze Dr. Chukwudi Ihenetu has congratulated the new World Trade Organization (WTO) DG and former  Nigeria Finance Minister, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala describing her as Amazon of Africa.

In a statement made available to Daily Sun, Eze Ihenetu said from the onset, he had absolute trust on Okonjo-Iweala with over 25 years of experience in the World Banks ability to hold the plum Job.

While setting agenda for the new WTO DG, the royal father urges her to look inward by fashioning  out policies that would lead most third world countries where African countries belongs out of economic crisis.

In his words, Eze Ihenetu said: “Okonjo-Iweala  should use her opportunity as WTO DG to promote Trade and industry and also pursue balance of trade by ensuring that their is equilibrium in trade between  African countries and the West. As our daughter, it is time for African Trade to be promoted across the word because God blessed Africa in so many ways including Trade
Citing example of Igbos who over the decades have awashed the international community with their prowess in the area of trade and investment at home and abroad, Eze  Ihenetu calls for trade policies that would enable Africans ply their trade without any hindrances.

Furthermore, Ihenetu urges Dr Okonjo-Iweala to be magnanimous in victory by carring other nations who may have contested against her along.

The royal father commended President Joe Biden of the United States for his progressive policies which is a departure from his predecessor hard stand which almost denied Dr. Okonjo- Iweala, her hard earned victory.

He equally commended the South Korean candidate for willingly conceding defeat without rancour.
Eze Ihenetu declared that emergence of Dr Okonjo-Iweala as WTO DG is indication that something good can come out of ‘Nazareth’

He said the fact that Ndigbo are recognised abroad to handle higher responsibility is indication that President of Igbo origin would  help Nigeria attain socio- political and economic prosperity.
