Miffed by news making the rounds that the palace of Ndigbo, Ghana in conjunction with Igbo in Ghana are planning  protest for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from Nigeria Prison on the 23rd of this month at Royal castle and 26th at Nigeria High Comisssion, the Eze Ndigbo Ghana, HRM Eze Chukwudi Ihenetu has denounced such information as false.

In a statement made available to the media, the Royal Father said, like other notable Nigerians, he was of the opinion that the Federal Government should be fair in dealing with agitators. He added that on no occasion  had he  called for rally or protest in his palace or the Nigeria High Commission.

“I  hereby use this medium to warn that the alleged plan to protest by Igbo community, Ghana in solidarity with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu (the IPOB Leader) is false.

“In my last publication, I made it clear that the Federal Government should know that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is not the only one agitating for Referendum, almost every ethnic groups in Nigeria is calling for a Referendum.

“Federal government should give a listening ear to its citizens and also be fare to Nnamdi Kanu in his trial.”

The statement further urges Nigerians home and abroad to be law abiding and desist from actions that could put the government of the day in bad light.

Earlier, HRM Ihenetu commended the Hon Femi Gbajabiamila committee and his Ghanian counterpart for their efforts so far at resolving the  trade dispute between Nigerian traders and the Ghana trade  Union.

The committee had meet in Abuja on Wednesday where they reviewed steps already taken to address the crisis.

The Royal father who in conjunction with Nigeria High Commission had been at forefront of  resolving the crisis prompted Speaker of Nigeria House of Reps to step in, in order to find parmanent solution to the  trade dispute, assured that long lasting solutions would soon be found to the lingering problem.
