As the state of the nation continues to deteriorate against the backdrop of banditry, killer herdsmen and a failing economy, businessman cum cleric and the Group Managing Director (GMD) Suru Group, Rabbi Dr. Edward Akinlade has revealed that the problem of Nigeria is not politicians but the role that fake pastors play in our nation. He articulated this position at the official unveiling of his church, Holy Tabernacle Temple (HTT) recently.

In a chat with The Sun he said: “God is already visiting the fake pastors in Nigeria and He is taking them out one after the other. Fake pastor are the reason why we are having bad leadership in our country, Nigeria. God told me that they are all going to hellfire! Nigeria would have been a great Nation if our men of God could speak truth to power.

“Imagine if Adeboye and Oyedepo called these politicians to order openly, what do you think will happen? When they are faced with the fear of God’s chastisement, what do you think their reactions would be? But because no one is questioning or cautioning them, they continue to amass needless wealth for themselves at the expense of 200 million citizens. This is a very sad development and for this reason, God is going to pay a visit to all the fake pastors in Nigeria and he has already started.

“We should ask ourselves, why are these bad leaders gathering money they don’t know who will spend. It is because pastors have abdicated their roles and are not speaking the truth to them. The Lord revealed to me that ‘there are 200,000 men of God in Nigeria but only 200 are genuine.’ This means only 200 men are recognized in a country of over 200 million people to be true men of God.”

Commenting on how he got his calling he continued: “On the 3rd of June 2020, God revealed to me that I should set up a church that holds prayers every 3 am in seven nations across the world and he said I must use it to change Nigeria and Nigerians. My church will serve Nigerians from all religious beliefs and denominations in seven nations including Lagos, Abuja, Dubai, London, Huston, Frankfort and Johannesburg.

According to the Rabbi, the aims and objectives of the new church is to save Nigeria and Nigerians through daily 3am prayers which will culminate in the alleviation of the suffering of Nigerians worldwide and make Nigeria a better place for the benefits of posterity. He added that his church will also wage spiritual warfare against fake pastors.
