•We’ve clue on suspects, say police

Igbogbo Community in Ikorodu, Lagos is mourning a family of six  who were murdered yesterday by yet-to-be identified assasins.
The victims were identified as Celestine Nwokoye, a taxi driver at the Murtala Mohammed International  Airport, his wife, three years old son, two daughters  and  a eight months old baby.
A neighbour who was identified as John Udah, said: “Nwokoye family members were  shot one after the other by gunmen in their residence inside a church premises.
“It happened in the early hours of yesterday. We heard gun-shots, but nobody knew what was happening and nobody could come out at that unholy hour.
“It was after the killers had gone that we knew the enormity  of what had happened. We rushed to the house, but by the time we got there, the father and the two children were already dead.
“The mother and the fifth person were still breathing, when we got there, we rushed them to  the Ikorodu  General Hospital  where they were confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.
“We can’t say who eliminated the family, but, I don’t suspect the killers were armed robbers. I think they were assassinated,” he said.
A police source said the family was murdered in their residence at Agbose Street, off Oluose junction in Igbogbo.
Spokesperson of the state police command, Dolapo Badmos, said the  police  have  a clue on the killers.
According to Badmos, “there was a report that one Celestine  Nwokoye  and members of his family were found dead in the pool of their own blood.
“Celestine  and his two male children, three  and eight months  old respectively have been confirmed dead , while the mother and the two daughters, who were seriously injured have been taken to the hospital for treatment.
“The incident occurred inside a church premises. The command is working seriously to unmask those behind the dastardly act. We have some leads we are working on. We are optimistic of breaking through,” he said.
