Ekiti Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has dissolved the state executive council and ordered all former commissioners to hand over to the permanent secretaries of their respective ministries.
His Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Idowu Adelusi, in a statement, yesterday, said the governor thanked the former commissioners for their service to the state and wished them well in their future endeavours.
Meanwhile, no reason was given for the cabinet dissolution.
However, there are speculations that Fayose’s decision to dissolve the cabinet may not be unconnected with the 2018 governorship poll.
Governor Fayose hadkicked started a continuity political agenda several months ago.
It was gathered that dissolving the cabinet is to give room for those in his administration to fully prepare for the forthcoming poll, while there are speculations that it may be connected with alleged political machinations by the opposition to penetrate Fayose’s administration, ahead of 2018.
The governor had also alleged that the Federal Government is after his government, for being the loudest opposition voice against it.
