Governor Ayodele Fayose has inaugurated the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers with Oloye of Oye-Ekiti, Oba Michael Ademolaju, as the chairman.

Calling on Oba Ademolaju to deploy his experience to serve the state, Fayose also urged the traditional rulers to join the state government to ensure continuity of good governance during the 2018 governorship election and to ensure security in their respective domains.

Fayose said: “2018 is around the corner, hence, all hands must be on the deck to ensure that the process of selecting a new government is not stalled unnecessarily. There is the need for Ekiti people to be on the same page with this administration by enduring the continuity of the good works it had started for the sustenance of the ongoing development of the state.

Oba Ademolaju, in his acceptance speech, thanked Fayose for the opportunity to serve as chairman of the council, and noted that it was “a challenge for the promotion of unity among the royal fathers and the people of Ekiti State both at home and in the diaspora.” Earlier, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ayodele Alabi, said the state government selected 25 rotational members to join the 32 permanent members to run the affairs of the traditional council for the next two years.
