Heritage Bank Ltd received the Fastest Growing Bank of the Year Award 2015 by DOM Communications, publishers of the Nigerian Pilot Newspaper and Nigeria Newsworld Magazine.
The award was conferred on the financial institution on Tuesday by the Chairman/Publisher of the newspaper, Dennis Sami, at the bank’s head office in Lagos.
Speaking to finance correspondents on the conferment of the award, Sami said Heritage Bank was voted as the fastest growing bank in terms of corporate appearance.  He explained that journalists voted for winner of the award across the country, and that the bank was chosen for pace with which it had expanded its footprint across the country and its services to customers. Sami, however, said the leadership forum for the award of Nigerian Pilot Newspaper has been in existence for the past eight years. The award was received on behalf of the Managing Director of Heritage Bank, Ifie Sekibo, by the Executive Director, Service Banks, Niyi Adeseun, and the team from the Corporate Communications Department.
Adeseun on receiving the award, said the bank was delighted for being considered as one of the fastest growing banks, which had distinguished itself on the retail space as a bank.
He said the future of the bank was bright with a balance sheet size of about N600 billion and over 165 branches across 34 states of the federation.
Adeseun hinted that the bank is on course to attaining the statues of a Systemic Important Bank (SIB), as this would enable Heritage Bank to list on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) in the next three years.
