The Federal Government yesterday announced the appointment of Mrs. Ndidi Egwuatu as Director, Civil Service Pension Department, and Mrs. Olufunmilayo Onafowokan as Director, Pension Support Service Department of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), in its quest to reposition the agency for better service delivery.
The appointments, which take immediate effect, were contained in a statement signed by Emma Okondo, Deputy Director, Corporate Communications, PTAD.
According to the statement, Egwuatun, who has a master’s degree in International Law and Diplomacy, was, until her appointment, acting chief risk officer. She has many years of experience in the banking industry.
Onafowokan, on her part, is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. She comes with experience in financial control and auditing, which she garnered in the private sector, especially in educational services.
Okondo also stated that some staff were confirmed substantive directors in the agency: “They are Babagana Kaigama, Director, Police Pension Department, Charles Wali, Director, Parastatals Pension Department, and Sulayman Yusuff-Shelleng, Director, Corporate Services Department.”
Okondo, while assuring the public of PTAD’s commitment to fulfilling  its responsibilities to pensioners said N7,504,166,065 was paid to 236,705 in August under the Defined Benefit Scheme.
