Federal government has been implored to heed calls for Restructuring by eminent Nigerians, pressure groups, socio-cultural organisations and other stakeholders.
Making this appeal in Lagos recently, the newly elected President, International Missions Conference of the Assemblies of God, CAAGA comprising Nigeria, Cameroon, Central Africa, Chad, Kinshasa, Congo Democratic Republic, Congo Brazzaville, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and Sao Tome and Principe, Rev.Chidi Okoroafor urged government to respect the views of the people.
According to Okoroafor who is also the General Superitendent, Assemblies of God, Nigeria, Nigerians should be allowed not only to have input in how they are governed but also that Nigerians views and opinions on governance should not be ignored by government.
Okoroafor who spoke on the side-line of an international conference organised by the Assemblies of God which took place at the National Stadium in Lagos further implored President Muhammadu Buhari to sustain the on-going war against corruption while lamenting that corruption has become endemic in the country.
Speaking on the conference, Okoroafor said it was organized to encourage members on the need to obey the great commission of the Lord of Christ by taking the gospel to the perishing world. He added that on daily basis that people are dying and going to hell without embracing the gospel.
“We need to fast-track the harvest and evangelism, which is the church’s main purpose. Unfortunately today, certain churches have become entertainment centres, where people come to laugh. But the church’s basic assignment is to reach out to the dying world, Okoroafor declared.”
Over 20, 000 delegates from Nigeria, Cameroon, Central Africa, Chad, Kinshasa, Congo Democratic Republic, Congo Brazzaville, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and Sao Tome and Principe took part in the conference which was held in conjunction with the Central Africa Assemblies of God Alliance, CAAGA
