The confusion that rocked the June 13, 2017 Nigeria Basketball Federation board election has finally been put to rest as the world basketball ruling body, Federation of International Basketball Associations on Thursday gave its nod to the leadership of Musa Kida led board.

In a letter addressed to all member Fiba federations, the Secretary General of the FIBA, Patrick Bauman stated that it would deal with the Musa Kida led board pending a review of the membership status.

“As you may be aware, two elections were held for the leadership of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) last month. While FIBA is reviewing the membership status of the NBBF, please be advised that any communication with the NBBF will be addressed to President of the federation Engr. Musa Kida, Vice President Babs Ogunade and Secretary General Chimezie Asiegbu.

This latest letter therefore supersedes an earlier letter sent out on Wednesday which gave a 12-point guideline for peace to reign.

Meanwhile, the Musa Kida led board had stated after it was inaugurated by the Minister of Youth and Sports Development resolved to paetner with all Nigerians, as well as other friends of the sport to move the game forward.

“Our focus is on building the capacity of Nigerian players and officials all around the globe with emphasis on development of the youths.
