From Bamigbola Gbolagunte, Akure

A Christian cleric, Adewale Giwa, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently proffer solutions to the problems confronting Nigeria if he does not want a new round of #EndSARS protests in the country.

Pastor Giwa, the senior pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming Of Christ Ministry, in Akure, the Ondo State capital, also urged President Buhari to live up to the expectations of Nigerians.

The Pastor, speaking with journalists in Akure, said that the President lacks the constitutional power to stop legitimate protests in the country.

He also alleged that some politicians within the All Progressives Congress (APC) party had sponsored thugs to disrupt protests embarked upon by aggrieved Nigerians in October.

‘President Buhari ought to have listened to the cries of Nigerians; by now, he ought to have amended his ways instead of sending political thugs to disrupt the previous nationwide protests,’ Giwa said.

‘If he had done what Nigerians are yearning for, there wouldn’t have been any need for another protest.

‘The President should implement effective policies that will make Nigerians happy if he doesn’t want further protests. Buhari’s presidency has made the country terrible.’
