The National Executive Council and Board of Trustees of the Christian Association of Clergies (CAC) has  decried the pathetic, pitiable, painful and excruciating sufferings of displaced persons due to devastating flood across communities. because of torrential downpour currently in its climax. 
The Christian Association of Clergies is an association of all clergies agitating and championing the interest and social welfare of clergies, members of laity and citizenry, however urged the members of the public donate to Special Trust Fund for the flood victims.
The group reminded Nigerians that religion that is pure and undefiled to help widows, downtrodden, orphans and those in needs, stressing that victims of flood disaster are in dire need of prayers, helps, comfort, encouragements and succours.
The National President of CAC Archbishop Yiman Orkwar and National Coordinator Justice Ikpeama in a statement decried unbearable, pathetic, inhuman, pitiable and excruciating sufferings of victims due to lack of basic necessities of life.
According to the group, “It is very unfortunate and regrettable that most of the IDP camps lacks security, electricity, water,foams,pillows,toilets, bathrooms, soaps,tissues, foods, cloths and other basic necessities of life.
“It is no longer news that they lost their houses, monies, properties, farmlands, crops, source of livelihood and all they have acquired in life. It is of great relevance for us to share in agony, pains, sufferings, predicaments and problems of the displaced persons.
“Governments, political class, cooperate organisations and affluent individuals should spare no efforts to contributes immensely toward ameliorating pathetic plights of the victims and their families.
“We are seeking, soliciting and advocating for collective and collaborative relentless efforts to brings succour, hope, joy and comfort to the displaced persons, their families and loved ones.
“In tandem with teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ and wise postulation of Rev. Martin Luther king Jr. that “any spiritual emancipation without socioeconomic, political, cultural emancipation is puny  spirituality.
“To put smiles on faces of the displaced persons, church leaders should raise funds in their churches to aid for upkeeps of victims.There is always unprecedented blessings, goodwill in giving and sharing.
“In line with our patriotic, selfless and humanitarian disposition we have established Special Trust Fund for rehabilitating displaced persons in various IDP camps in the country. We equally appeals to affluent Nigerians to donates generously to the Fund. It will helps in no small measure in ameliorating excruciating sufferings of flood victims.
“May God accept the souls of more than 500 persons that lost their lives, when their houses and farmlands were submerged by flood and for God to give fortitude and grace to the bereaved to bear and endure the irreparable and irreplaceable lost. Government should articulate marshal plan and panacea to tackle incessant flooding in the country permanently” the group stated.
