She is a business tycoon involved in fashion, oil and printing business. She is the Group Managing Director of The Rose of Sharon Group which consists of The Rose of Sharon Prints & Promotions Limited and Digital Reality Prints Limited and Executive Vice Chairman of Famfa Oil Limited.
Folorunsho married a lawyer, Modupe Alakija in November 1976. They reside in Lagos, Nigeria with their four sons and grandchildren. Her nephew is the British-Nigerian, DJ Xclusive.

When you talk of the most consistent and respected female socialite in this part of the world, Folorunsho Alakija would quickly come to mind, considering her societal swags and carriage. She has over the years won the hearts of many other socialites who today aspire to be like her. Her dexterity in handling family, business and societal obligations still baffles many people , but this successful woman has come to stay and anytime you see her at events you will not but turn your head and look again.
She was sighted at the just concluded wedding between Halima Babangida and Auwal Abdullai in Minna last weekend and trust this woman who understands the language of style, she was glamorous.
