Former governorship aspirants of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) in Benue State have queued behind Governor Samuel Ortom in his re-election bid.

The aspirants also donated their campaign structures to the governor even as they pledged their support for the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and all of the party’s candidates in the state.

In a chat with newsmen in Makurdi, the runner up at the party’s gubernatorial primary election, John Tondu, said as a loyal party man, he had decided to donate his campaign structures to the PDP governorship and presidential candidates of the party.

“I am a loyal party man and despite losing in the primaries, I am still a PDP member and to buttress that, I have donated my campaign building and structures to Governor Ortom and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Also speaking, another aspirant, Dr. Tivlumun Nyitse who also donated his campaign structures to the governor and the PDP, urged Benue people to support the party and deliver all the candidates of the PDP in the coming elections.

“We are all solidly behind our governor and the PDP and we will work hard to ensure the success of the party in the elections,” Dr. Nyitse said

On his part, another aspirant, a former Speaker of the State Assembly, Dave Iorhemba, who also threw his weight behind Governor Ortom and all PDP candidates in the election, said he was convinced that the future and interest of the state would be better protected under a PDP government.

“Benue is PDP and we owe it a responsibility to ensure that Governor Ortom, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and all PDP candidates emerge victorious in all the elections.”

Other aspirants who also declared support for Governor Ortom and the PDP were Prof. David Ker, and Prof. Tor Iyorapuu.
