Four people, at the weekend, reportedly drown in a river at Damana village of Birnin-Kebbi Local Government Area of Kebbi state.

Daily Sun gathered that the victims were making attempt to cross the river with barefoot, while inadvertently followed the wrong path in the river.

It was learnt that the victims were returning from their farm before they met their untimely death.

An eyewitness told Daily Sun, on Sunday evening, that only a 7-year-old Ummu Bandi was rescued alive by a diver.

The source gave the names of the deceased as Ravi Ige, 62, Nafisa Malami, 16, Maliya Maikarti, and Suwaiba Danbadi.

When contacted on phone, Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO,) Kebbi State Police Command, DSP Suleiman Mustapha,  told Daily Sun that nobody had reported such report to the police station in charge of the area.
