The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, has congratulated the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar on the 54th anniversary of the Nigerian Air Force {NAF}.

In a goodwill message at a special anniversary parade organised to mark the event on Saturday, the Corps Marshal commended the Chief of Air Staff for the professionalism he has brought into the management of the Air Force, saying his introduction of modern equipment and reliance on technology for his modernisation policy, has earned respect for the service.

According to the Corps Marshal, the existing cordial relationship between the Nigerian Air Force and the FRSC over the years, especially as demonstrated through the air support to the FRSC’s end-of-year special patrol, has helped in no small way to harmonise air and road transportation safety.

He applauded the Chief of Air Staff for sustaining the relationship and restated the commitment of the FRSC to leveraging on the air support to make its yearly special patrol a successful exercise.

Oyeyemi, who personally attended the grand finale of the anniversary celebration at the Nigerian Air Force Base, Kaduna, expressed optimism that with the level of modernisation introduced into the Air Force under this administration, Nigeria’s airpower would become a force to reckon with, not only in Africa, but at the global level.
He assured that FRSC will continue to collaborate with the Nigerian Air Force in its support to civil populace for ensuring peace and tranquility of the nation.

The special parade which involved change of flags, aerial display and paratroopers display, was followed by the commissioning of two new aircraft recently introduced into the fleet of the Air Force by the representative of the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces, the Minister of Defence, Brigadier Mohammed Monsur Dan Ali (rtd).
