Said he, “This is to inform the University community and the public that sequel to the autonomy given to universities to set their admissions cut-off marks, the Senate of the Federal University Birnin-Kebbi (FUBK) has set 180 as its minimum cut-off marks for admission into the University through the University Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for the 2017/2018 Academic Session.

“This is without prejudice to the cut-off marks set for individual programmes.
“However, candidates who attended the School of Basic Studies (SBS) and passed the examination require the minimum of 160 marks in their UTME to be considered for admission into undergraduate programmes of the University.
“It should be noted that the 120 admissions cut-off marks recommended by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is only a minimum requirement, implying that universities are to decide their admissions cut-off marks which must not go below 120.”
He added that the date for post-UTME screening exercise will be communicated to the general public in due course.
