.Petitions CAF, NFF, LMC, West Ham over breach of agreement
The protracted tussle between Chief Gabriel Chukwuma and Chief Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah over the ownership of Gabros International that later changed to FC Ifeanyiubah, Gabros Stadium at Beverly Hills of Nnewi (now FC Ifeanyiubah Stadium) took a very dangerous dimension a few days ago.
This was because of the alleged failure of Chief Ubah to keep to payment agreement in line with the latest peace move/dialogue brokered last October by prominent Anambra indigenes, which included renowned industrialist, Chief Tonimas and an Nnewi business mogul/community leader, Austin Emmanuel.
The ill-fated peace move brought the warring Nnewi billionaires face to face on a round table after over a year where it was agreed that Chief Ubah will part with N438, 000,000.00 (Four hundred and thirty eight million naira) being the outstanding balance if the whole transaction regarding the sale of Gabros FC and the Gabros Stadium fell through.
The dialogue took place at the palatial home of Chief Innocent Chukwuma, the CEO of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing, who was the chief moderator. Chief Ubah was said to have given hope of eternal resolution of the matter with a promise to pay by the end of November 2016 and later directed one Barrister Oseloka Osigwe to prepare the documentation for payment of 56 adjourning plots of land belonging to Chief Chukwuma.
However, with no news from Chief Ubah almost a month after the agreed payment date, Chief Chukwuma reacted by instructing a Lagos based law firm, J. Mbadugha & Co to write the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the League Management Company (LMC) seeking for non registration of FC Ifeanyiubah for the new Nigeria football season as well as stopping the continued use of Gabros Stadium, which it termed illegal.
The letters laden with commensurate legal references serve as final warning notice before litigation should the NFF and the LMC chose the contrary. The firm also copied West Ham United, CAF and FIFA respectively.
