These are surely happy times for Nollywood hunk and star of Playing Safe, IK Ogbonna. He was recently appointed brand ambassador for new movie streaming platform, Bebuzee as it wraps up plans to launch its free video content service in Africa in December.

A statement from the platform read thus: “Bebuzee is proud to be affiliated with IK Ogbonna, one of the most sought after actors in Nollywood as a prominent face of the Bebuzee brand. We believe in his brand and that is why we have decided to make him one of our brand ambassadors.”

Ogbonna starred in his debut movie, Lovelom in 2013 and ever since has not looked back as he has featured in more than a hundred movies and still counting. He is also one of the most influential and celebrated actors in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Bebuzee, to consolidate its hold on the industry has also partnered with more than 50 Nollywood producers to gain exclusive rights to their content and has garnered over 16 million users so far on the African continent and is expanding to more African countries challenging Netflix and Amazon. It has also filed for an initial public offering of its shares in the United States ahead of its launch as a public company in 2021.
