Major General Lawrence Onoja has restated his loyalty and commitment to the President Muhammadu Buhari led government and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former Military Governor stated this when the Ohimini/Otukpo APC Youth Congress paid him a courtesy visit at his Otukpo GRA residence last Monday.
The youth group commended Onoja for an exemplary performance that helped the party to give victory to the APC in the just concluded Presidential race in the two federating Local Governments.
The group led by Comrade Omale Dennis applauded Onoja, an APC Chieftain for embarking on house to house campaign to draw support for President Buhari and other APC candidates.
According to Omale, the retired general stood for truth, integrity, honesty and love for the party, which he said accounted for the presidential victory in the Federal Constituency.
He therefore urged APC Idoma leaders in the zone to work together as a team to enable the party win the forthcoming Governorship and state assembly polls.
The presidential election results as released by INEC put the APC at 7865 and PDP 6775, APGA 1309 for Ohimini LG, while for Otukpo LG, APC scored 17460, PDP 15545, APGA 1309 with SDP getting 318 votes.
The group urged Onoja not to relent in his efforts but ensure that Benue South Senatorial District is completely delivered to the APC having a strong political structure in the zone especially in the next polls ahead. They asked him to team up with others to give Jime/Ode victory come March 9th, 2019.
Responding, General Onoja thanked them for recognizing his contribution, assuring them that President Buhari will never forget their contribution to his victory. He applauded them for peaceful conduct before, during and after the election and urged them to do same in future polls.
He also reminded the youths that having served as Mr President’s military governor, after they both fought the civil war with their lives to keep Nigeria from disintegration, he remains loyal and committed to Mr President.
Onoja, in a statement signed by his Media Consultant, Paul Udenyi, praised President Buhari for his government’s infrastructural development, fight against insurgency and corruption coupled with revamping of the economy.
According to him, pains being experienced at the moment is due to the mess created in the past that the APC is trying to clear for a better Next Level Nigeria that would be better and more prosperous.
While assuring them to work hard for Jime/Ode governorship ticket, he urged Nigerians to be a little bit patient as things will soon change for good.
