Ghana Affcot has emerged winners of the maiden edition of the 2017 Afriventures Cup football competition.
The tournament held at the Nitel Sports complex Oshodi, Lagos State, saw six clubs; Cameroon Affcot, Cote D’Ivoire Affcot, Yola Affcot, Zaria Sunseed, Chanrai Health care and Ghana Affcot jostle for Supremacy.
As champions of the two day tournament, Ghana Affcot smiled home with a giant trophy and the ultimate cash price of $5,000. Runners up Yola Affcot, received $3,000 , while Zaria Sunseed got $2,000 for their efforts.
Highlights of the competition was the presentation of the best player trophy to the Cameroonian Affcot goalkeeper, Mpeli Marcel Gaetan while, Muhammed Abubakar from Yola Affcot was voted as the highest goal scorer.
In her remarks, the Group CEO , Afriventures and ChanraiKewalram, Siva Subramanian urged government and other Corporate bodies to form a strong synergy to improve on Nigeria’s sports development.
According to Subramanian, football is the most appreciative vehicle for mutual love and good understanding that binds together people of diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Meanwhile, long service awards and gifts were presented to where given to individuals who merited it.
