The Nigerian Army has warned officers currently taking examination to determine their knowledge of military duties, to desist from cheating as anybody caught would be shown the way out of the force.
General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division, Major General Henry Edet, who gave the warning, said officers caught cheating would have shown, they do not have integrity and as such, do not qualify to be generals.
He spoke during the flag-off  of the Captain to Major practical examination holding at the 192 Battalion ground in Owode, Ogun State and warned the officers to take the examination serious as their success would determine how far they can go in force.
General Edet also cautioned the Directing Staff (DS)conducting the examination not to bully officers as was the case in the past.
“In the past, bullying by the Directing Staff contributes largely to failure of many candidates. The DS should guide the candidates. You are selected based on integrity, so be fair. I will not tolerate any witch-hunt.”
Reeling out the rule for the examination, President of the Examination Panel and Acting Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Brigadier General Peter Dauke said the examination prepares the officers for the Junior Staff College.
Dauke said the officers were also being tested on the knowledge of the military, explaining that the officers can attempt the examination two more times, if they fail the initial attempt.
It was gathered that after the third attempt and the officer fail to scale through, he would be shown the way out of the force.
The acting commander TRADOC told Daily Sun that the officers would be tested on tactics and low intensity conflict and all phases of war, including internal security, map reading, communication, staff duties and French language.

The purpose of the Captain-Major Practical Promotion Examination (CMPPE) is to test the professional knowledge of officers of the rank of captain in the NA and prepare them for promotion to the next rank.
