According to Mrs Kanu ” The Couples Dinner is put together by the God Conscious Women Fellowship to enable us discuss Home and Marriage Affairs the God’s way.
“Through this platform, couples will come to discover the underlying secrets to lasting marriages.

“This Home and Marriage Affairs Clinic is therefore created to help couples discover better ways of handling marital challenges, overcome their differences and resolve misunderstandings and disagreements amicably.

“Our prayer and expectation is that as we learn and apply the principles of marriage taught in this clinic which is based on God’s word and wisdom, we will discover practical ways of building our homes and marriages”.

In her teaching, which was anchored on the topic “Marriage: Life of bliss or Battle ground”, Mrs Kanu, admonished couples not to turn their marriage into a battle ground as it is meant to provide a life of bliss if patterned on God’s word and instruction.

According to the visioner of the project ” We must know that people are not easy to live with, that is why we as christains are encouraged to persevere through tough times.

“Life is not easy and cannot be great all the times, and marriage like every other relationships is not going to be great all the times.

“We must understand that conflicts exist when two different individuals who are from different background come together and because we see things and situations differently, conflicts will always arise”.

Mrs Kanu said marriages require hardwork and commitment, just as she stresses the need for prayer and tolerance.
According to her ” Commitment in marriage is a binding pledge which is carried out to completion.
“Commitment means that you learn to accept his/her shortcomings and not use them as a reason to break the union. We must take our marriage commitment seriously, working on it.

“When challenges arise in marriage, do these things: Try and identify the cause of the conflict, Tackle the problem and not your partner, Accept responsibility for your mistake or the part you played.

“When dealing with conflicts in marriage find a way to start up discussion, look for a suitable time and place that suits the both of you, don’t hide your problems from your children, if children are already in the marriage, let them know that we can disagree sometimes and that when there is disagreement steps should be taken to resolve them as soon as possible.

“Concentrate on your own behaviour and allow your partner work on his/her own and don’t put pressure on your partner to change to who you want him/her to be.
“You must know that resolving conflicts is not about winning or losing rather about finding a creative solution that brings satisfaction to the couple.
“But if you are in a physically abusive marriage, please separate for the main time and seek help from the right source while trusting God to heal the marriage”.
Mrs Tina Kanu, also called on the President Buhari-led government to tackle the security challenge ravaging the country, while also stressing the need to ensure the economy works.
