Good governance key to Nigeria’s socio-economic development, says Obasanjo
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Former president Olusegun Obasanjo said, on Saturday, in Lagos, that good governance was  imperative for the socio-economic growth of the country.

Obasanjo said this at the Pro. Gabriel Fakeye Memorial Lecture entitled, “The Challenge of Good Governance, National Stability and Development” at Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Ayo Ni O.

He said for good governance to be felt in Nigeria, there was need for national cohesion, vision and cooperation among  the components of the system with a common focus on people-oriented development.

“We see leaders as managers that make decisions, organise people and achieve organisational goals; yes, leaders must do all those, but leaders must be visionary and must communicate strategies to achieve the vision.

“The ability to take risks and adapt to change, develop a vision, influence people, provide direction, innovate and solve problems is the hallmark of leadership.

“Appointment at the leadership level should be based on competence, knowledge and experience; any other consideration will be based on sub-optimal,’’ Obasanjo said.

Harping on national stability, he said since the nation was an extension of families the intrinsic family values that had evolved from generations to generations should be given attention.

He said: “A stable system is that that can weather storms, psychologically, spiritually, financially, environmentally; for some storms we need spiritual intervention and that is where the church have a major role to play.

“A nation consists of the communities and family constitutes communities, therefore, the stability of the nation depends on how stable or robust the families are and consequently the communities.

“The nerve centre of national stability is the family. Individuals, communities and nations can only develop if they are innovative.

“innovation could be incremental breakthrough or disruptive in nature, our leaders must embrace disruptive innovations.

“The Bible teaches us to love our neighbours as ourselves. If we love our neighbour as ourselves, we will love our nation and be patriotic.’’

Obasanjo said the church had the responsibility to restore family values and that they should make the church a training ground for future leaders.

“The church as we have seen in some nations throw up national leadership and we must, therefore, encourage our churches to dedicate time to the training of youths in the choir, bible study and evangelism.

“A nation that is cohesive and built on core positive family value inclusive of reward/punishment system that is open and just shall progress.

“We need prayers that the Lord will direct us to see more of the positive than the negative reasons for national unity.

“The church must be a training ground for leadership and the Bible is the best handbook for such training,’’ he stressed.

General Leader, Cherubim and Seraphim, Apostle Funsho Korode, in his address, urged Christians to imbibe  the leadership qualities of the late Fakeye.

“Although as a religious leader, he impacted greatly on the political terrain through his non-discriminatory preaching on the pulpit and on the airwaves.

“If we truly love him and his legacies, then we must all fight tooth and nail and within available resources to see that this nation, Nigeria, is restored to greatness, prosperity and righteousness,’’ he said.

The Chairman of Standard Chartered Bank, Mr Remi Omotosho, one of the guest speakers at the occasion, urged Christians to build on the legacies of Fakeye. (NAN)

Republic Of Biafra is the only hope of the ruined entity call Nigeria either they take it or not. It is all about Capability. Germany for example do not have such capability after 1918 which caused the WW II, America have the capability, structured, developed and protect Germany till date. Republic Of Biafra Capability is the only hope of the ruined entity called Nigeria but they have to beg for it from March 15. 2017 under Republic Of Biafra. Saraki has realized that and said Nigeria need Igbos now. But the only possibility is under Republic Of Biafra from March 15. 2017 after the official declaration of Republic Of Biafra. Obasanjo who is talking about what he called good governance, do he Obasanjo have Capability of good governance? Do he have such examplary record put in place for other to build on such principles? Do the ruined entity of west and north called Nigeria have the Capability?

He Obasanjo has not said the fundamental reason the ruined entity called Nigeria failed. The reason it failed is its backgrounds and persons like him Obasanjo who did not have the intellectual capability to develop governing instruments base on the natives backgrounds, did not have the capability to develop sustainable economic structures base on the backgrounds of the natives. They are just puppets who rely on European via British Ideology of Imaginary Society without considering the background of the people- the natives. They are just illiterates who do not have the Capability to handle human society- social, economic etc. They will see example of Intellectual Capability to handle human society- social, economic etc. in Republic Of Biafra from March 15. 2017 after the official declaration of Republic Of Republic Biafra. God Is With Us!!!

The said France ambassador who is quoted as said there is no future for Biafra etc., should know Republic Of Biafra do not ask France for any such support quoted, do not need it. France is the one that need Republic Of Biafra support. If it is about war, France do not have arms etc. to defend Nigeria of west and north, not to talk about arms etc. to defeat Republic Of Biafra. Nigeria of west and north do not have neither the money nor the resources to purchase arms etc. for defence, not to talk about money or resources to purchase arms etc. to defeat Republic Of Biafra. Republic Of Biafra have all it takes to Defend Republic Of Biafra and Crush any who stand on the way of Republic Of Biafra. The Official Declaration Of Republic Of Biafra Is March 15. 2017. All Igbos home and abroad should prepare to Celebrate and to Defend Republic Of Biafra. God Is With Us!!!

The illiterate called Denys Gauer who is quoted as said Biafra do not have a future etc. should know France do not have principle etc. that is why they could not defend their country against Germany, in which Africa, Biafrans played key role and librated France, and they are still living at the mercy of America protection, because even presently, France cant defend itself against Germany, only plays errand to Germany in Europe despite all America etc. did to them to develop capability to defend themselves in Europe. Ambassador of such country called France will be talking about Republic Of Biafra not having a future, which is like saying Israel do not have a future- so an insult. Considering the present France situation- Social, Economic, Defence etc., it is France that can be said do not have a future. Republic Of Biafra is a country of Capability and Principle- Social, Economic, Defence etc. The Official Declaration Of Republic Of Biafra Is March 15. 2017- three days to go. All Igbos home and abroad should prepare to Celebrate and to Defend Republic Of Biafra. God Is With Us!!!
