“We have executed various levels of projects including supply, design, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance. The utility scale solar farm projects of Vertical solar in Nigeria has proven to be one of the most beneficial projects for the end user with the highest energy generation and thereby the return on investment,” he said.

On why most Nigerians have not bought into the solar idea, Okereke explained that the initial cost of setting up a solar system is huge and thus may scare away most interested potential customers.

“Well, because solar materials are not cheap, it makes it difficult for more people to subscribe to it. Many people find it difficult to remove such bulk money for installation of renewable energy,” he said.

“Solar power is a 100% clean, renewable energy source. It reduces reliance on oil, coal and natural gas for electricity production. These fossil fuels produce harmful emissions that affect the quality of air, water and soil, and are responsible for global warming. Solar power is pollution free and causes no greenhouse gases to be emitted after installation. Reduced dependence on foreign oil and fossil fuels. Renewable clean power that is available every day of the year, even cloudy days produce some power” he said, explaining why solar energy is a better source of power compared to other sources.
