Rilwan “Baby Face” Babatunde, winner of the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy and cash prize for the best boxer at GOtv Boxing Night 11, has commended the sponsors for making his dream come true.
Baby Face was voted by journalists as the best boxer at the event, which held at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan, on Sunday. The event, sponsored by GOtv and supported by MultiChoice and the Federal Inland Revenue Service delivered fun aplenty for Ibadan fans.
Baby Face’s ferocious punches, delivered at stunning speed, put a quick end to the light welterweight challenge bout with Waliu “Oganla” Arogundade in the fourth of the scheduled eight-round duel. The young boxer described himself as a product of GOtv Boxing, having been selected after an impressive audition at GOtv Boxing NextGen Search 1 in Lagos.
“I have to thank the sponsors and organisers of GOtv Boxing Night. They have encouraged me to make something out of my life by providing the platform to do what I do best. Winning N2m while fighting in Nigeria is not something that had happened before. I pray that God should continue to bless GOtv,” said the 21-year old.
