Former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Babachir David Lawal, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara and others under the platform of the Northern Nigeria Christian Politicians (NNCP), are set to organise its first national conference in Abuja.
According to the Publicity Secretary of the body, Mr. Victor Lar, the themes of the conference are: “The challenges of Northern Christians in the Contemporary Economy” and “The challenges and gains of Northern Nigeria Christian Politics and Governance”.
Mr. Lar said the event will hold on November 19 at the International Conference Centre, Abuja. He said, “we will have President Muhammadu Buhari, as well as the former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon in attendance.
“We have never had any president, who has appointed more Christian minorities like this from the North. We want to sit down and discuss our future. We will focus mainly on prayers for the nation and its leaders, as well as the existence of peace in the northern part of the country,” he said.
