The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has told the Southeast Governors to suppress the temptation of giving up there stance on open grazing ban, a decision  Southern Governors took few months ago in Asaba, Delta state.

In a statement, the Secretary General of the apex Igbo socio cultural group, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro says President Buhari’s approval of the 368 grazing Reserves in 25 States, is a measure to frustrate decision by the governors to ban open grazing in their states.

The statement also urge South East Governor to resist donation of lands for grazing reserves in Igboland to Fulani herdsmen as this will make them enemy of their people.

It warned that Ndigbo will not condone further obnoxious policies from the Federal Government aimed at helping the enemies especially the murderous herdsmen establish base in the South East.

” Southeast Governors forum had in the past given the Igbo verdict that there are no available lands for Grazing reserves or Ruga in the region. So we hope that no Igbo governor would sabotage this verdict.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide wishes to state that “there are no available lands for Grazing reserves anywhere in the southeast because the disaster associated with the planned grazing reserves will bring catastrophe and conflicts in the future in the southeast, FG should concentrate on Grazing reserves in 19 Northern states, where there is enormous landmass for herdsmen, as extending it to additional States beyond the North to the South had reinforced our suspicion that FG is determined to destroy the implementation of open grazing ban in the South.
