A frontline Kogi State governorship aspirant and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, George, Shola Olumoroti, has lost his wife, Funmilola.
The deceased described as an amiable, easy-going, God-fearing Christian was an engineer in a leading oil company in the country, was said to have suffered a brief illness before she died in the early hours of Monday.

Mrs Funmilola Olumoroti was a philanthropist who normally took care of widows and orphans in the society had a pet project she used to give out relief materials ever Easter and end of the year, especially to the underprivileged in the society.
She was also said to have given out scholarship awards with the support of her husband to dozens of indigent students.
The news of her death was said to have hit the people of Kogi State like a thunderbolt especially residents of Kabba where Mr Olumoroti hails.
Political associates and well-wishers of the bereaved have continued to pour into his home grieving sympathising with the Olumoroti family.
The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Matthew Kolawole, described the death of Mrs Olumoroti as a great loss to people of Kabba and Kogi State in general and prayed to God to give the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
On his Facebook wall, the husband of the deceased who is in deep sorrow at the moment said. “Death your arrow stings, death you took Funmilola away from me and the children at this prime age… your arrow is deep, your arrow is devastating.”
Olumoroti described his wife as “my supporter, my backbone, my manager, my arranger, my organiser, my cook, my alarm, and my prayer warrior,” disclosing that the burial ceremony will be announced later by the family.
