Sequel to the impeachment of former president of Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos State, Chief Solomon Aguene, over allegations of tenure elongation and election of Chief Sunday Ossai as new president, Ndi Eze Ndigbo in Lagos has backed the new leader.

In a communique  signed by  Eze Christ Offia, Eze Ndigbo of Ibeju Lekki and chairman of the council of Ndieze Ndigbo Lagos State and Eze Emmanuel Anyamele, secretary of Ndieze Ndigbo in Lagos State, the group said: “The social media have been agog with propaganda, tabloids inundated with the imaginary trajectory and negative polemics of Igbo history and culture especially in Lagos.  This infighting became manifest with the litany of voice notes (most of which impolite and unacceptable for a people in the category of Ndigbo.

“In the light of the foregoing, it has become germane for the Ezes to make the following clarifications viz that Chief Solomon Aguene was impeached by the general house during a general assembly meeting at Calabar Hall Ajao Road, Surulere on the 9th day of June 2022.  And by this singular action, he has lost his recognition as the President of Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos.
