A group, Core APC Forum (CAF) has urged the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomole, to desist from taking decisions capable of thwarting the ideals of democratic culture, norms and values among party members.

Addressing newsmen in Warri, APC ex-presidential aspirant, Alhaji Mumakai-Unagha, and Dr. SKC Ogbonnia who are CAF National Chairman and Secretary respectively, warned of an imminent danger should the party chairman go ahead to compile names and suspend aggrieved members who approached the court seeking redress over perceived injustice done to them.

According to body, “information reaching us from the All Progressives Congress suggests that the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is compiling names of major stakeholders of the party to be suspended or expelled.

“The growing speculation also suggests that those to be suspended are drawn from the six geo-political zones with the bulk of them from Delta State.

“The people are being framed up by political blackmailers, especially those who lost both their governorship, national and state Assembly elections.

“We have been reliably informed that the national chairman is desirous of sanctioning those who went to court and the tribunal simply because they were contesting wrongful exclusion and imposition of candidates.

“It is on record that the party lost in most states because of the singular action of the national chairman of the party who had displayed gross high handedness and a series of political blunders in words and deeds before, during and after the elections.

“We, Core APC Forum including ex-presidential aspirants, governors, national and state lawmakers wish to call on the National Working Committee of the party to halt such move.

“The national chairman should act a true democrat rather than taking decision that will affect the fortune of the party negatively. The principle of a sustainable democracy evolves election and litigation which President Muhammadu Buhari acknowledged in his recent statement.

“Adam Oshiomhole should allow aggrieved party members that went to either the tribunal or court to seek for justice to exhaust their energy. Adams Oshiomhole should call himself to order and allow a free democratic processes in the party,” the group.
