Ahead of the presidential and governorship elections, a voluntary group, the Sanwo Eko Movement (SEM), has urged Nigerians, especially Lagosians, to make their votes count by voting right.

The SEM leader, Funsho Elulade, who pledged the group’s support for the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) governorship candidate for Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his running mate, Obáfémi Hamzat, said  it become necessary for people to be educated to avoid wasted votes as experienced in the last elections.

He noted that there are many contestants running for the elections, which has made the ballot paper long, and invariably a small space to thumb print, hence, the group has embarked on a sensitisation road tour, to ensure as many legit votes as possible through education.

He recalled that at the last governorship election, it was reported that several votes were void because of voters’ ignorance, adding that the party wants to claim all its votes to win by a significant margin this time around. The sensitisation tour has, so far, visited the Ojota, Maryland and Ikeja axis of the state.
