The Association of Nigerian Business and Professional Women (ANBPW), has urged young girls and women to develop themselves to become successful in their various fields of endeavours so they can become employers of labour.
The National President of ANBPW, Mrs. Yinka Ajibola, made the call while donating palliative items to widows of Kpaduma community in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), to cushion the effects of the lockdown occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic.
She said, “Why we come here, is to found a new group of women that we have started working with and we will continue to work with them to empower them so that we can lift them out of poverty to make them independent and educate them where necessary so they can stand well in their families and Society.
“The objective is to empower women, to make us able to do everything that we can to get to the height of a profession to take care of ourselves and families, to occupy very important position in our country, politically, social and economically in every area.
“As the wonderful women that you see with me do, we are in different fields of endeavour which are education, medical and various areas. Those are where we operate with the passion to improve ourselves. Because, the better you get then the better you can bring other people and the passion you have for other women.
She urged young girls and women to develop themselves through education.
Some of the items donated by the BPW includes: bags of rice, beans, 900gm detergent, Indomie noodles and six yards of wrappers to each elderly widows.
Presenting the items to the widows at the community, President BPW Emerald of Asokoro Club, Mrs. Alice Ada Bisong, noted that the association has been giving out commodities to widows of FCT community.
According to her, “We have come here to identify with the widows and adopt the community, so that they will do more things with them.
“I choice windows because they are the ones most preferred at this time, that is why we are here and I’m advising others women outside to Google BPW which is an acronym for business and professional women go to YouTube and Instagram handles to see BPW is all over the world.
“They have given me all the list and we are starting with the widows and before taking other women later in this community,” she said.
