Unknown gunmen have kidnapped a second class paramount ruler in the state, Engr. David Isah Dongbam, of Dorock Kindom in Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The monarch was kidnapped when the suspected gunmen stormed his residence and whisk him away to an unknown destination.
Police Public Relations Officer of the Plateau State Police Command, DSP Mathias Terna Tyopev, who confirmed the incident, on Tuesday, said the Police Commissioner had constituted a search team to rescue the paramount ruler alive.

In a statement, Tyopev said, “On the 19/11/2018 at about 2200hrs, the Plateau State Police Command, Jos received an information that unknown gunmen stormed the residence of ‘the Longdorock’ HRH Engr. David Isah Dongbam, the Second Class Chief of Dorock Kingdom of Shandam Local Government Area of Plateau State and Kidnapped him to unknown destination.
“After the receipt of the information, the Command immediately formed a search and rescue team which is working assiduously to rescue the Paramount Ruler unhurt.”
Tyopev said the Command would update the public as soon as new information gets to it as the Command was yet to establish contact with the kidnappers as at time of filing this report.
