Nigeria Professional Footbal League (NPFL) returnee, Heartland of Owerri has disclosed that she is searching for a technical adviser.

Chairman of the Club, Goodfaith Etuemena told Daily Sunsports in Owerri Monday in a chat that the need has arisen for the employment of a technical adviser given the task in the top class.

“The coaching crew headed by Ramson Madu have done well and are still doing a wonderful job for Heartland Football Club. Madu and his assistants did well last term, bringing us back to the elite division.

“However, we need someone to help us do better because, the premier league is a different ball game that requires all hands to be on deck.

“The technical adviser Heartland will hire will need to fall in line with Madu and the others because what has kept us going is the unity among the coaches.

Anyone joining us must be ready to work with those on ground.”

The Heartland chairman further revealed that the club is looking at the possibility of hiring a foreigner, if the funds are available but added that if a suitable candidate is found within the country, it would be a lot easier.

“It’s true Heartland is open to hiring a technical adviser. If things work out the way we plan, a foreigner would join us. We need funds to make this possible but that is not to say we’re not looking inwards.”

Goodfaith noted that the club management wants to make the job easier for the players when they get the right input.

“Our players deserve a better condition to help them play well. With the right information in their hands, it would be a lot easier.

As I speak with you the Imo State governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has released funds for the season including salaries, bonuses.

It’s left for the players to do their jobs. While we played in the lower league, the players got their pay as at when due and this season won’t be any different. When the players are happy, they will go the extra mile. The management does not intend to disappoint them,” he concluded.
