Delta State Governor and Vice Presidential candidate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has appealed to Igbo to support Atiku.

He reminded that the presidential hopeful is a son in-law to the Igbo and, therefore, should not be abandoned at a time he was in need of their support to actualise his political ambition.

He assured that the PDP government under Atiku would ensure Igbo were adequately carried along in government activities.

He said Atiku as president in 2023 was the surest way for Igbo to become president of Nigeria.

Okowa made the appeal through the Kaduna State PDP governorship candidate, Isa Ashiru, who represented him at the Igbo Cultural Day celebration, award giving and fund raising ceremony in Kaduna, yesterday.

The Delta State governor noted that Atiku being an in-law to Igbo had demonstrated his desire and likeness as he always picked an Igbo as running mate each time he got  the presidential ticket.

“I am also your son, hence a support for Atiku is also a support for potential Igbo presidency because the Igbo have always given their overwhelming support for the PDP and it is expected that 2023 will not be an exception. Atiku has always demonstrated that he will not be a regional president, but one who will unify the country regardless of tribe, ethnicity or religion.”

Okowa solicited the support of the Igbo  for the actualisation of the Atiku/Okowa presidency come 2023 for a united Nigeria.

“2023 is time of decision making that will either make or mar us as a nation if we vote in the wrong direction, but voting Alhaji Abubakar Atiku will certainly be the best decision for secured country.”

Ashiru also solicited the votes and support of the Igbo resident in Kaduna State, stressing that the Igbo have always been part of a PDP government in Kaduna State.
