The talent hunt show tagged “Gospel Friends Talents Show” which is in its first edition organised by Gospel friends music production is aimed at giving life to people who are passionate about gospel music.
According to its managing director, Pastor KceeOnyezuluba, the idea of the talent show was bored out of the urge to discover, boost and encourage gospel songs in Nigeria, Africa, and the world at large, “every day we wake up to see the circular music sector pushing their people to light and the talented gospel singers are automatically discouraged and even changing their minds to divert to the secular.”
Speaking at a press conference and at the unveiling of the show, Kcee said that this platform wouldafford anyonewho is passionate about gospel music the opportunity to showcase their talent.
“This show will be all about discovering new talents, anyone who has the voice to sing is free to come and participate. Now is the time to show the world that you can do it.
“I strongly believe that we can create something positive from this platform. We are not just looking for stars, we are looking for those we can sponsor to be what God has destined them to be,” he said.
Rosemary Chukwu who was a guestat the conference and would be doubling as a judge on the upcoming show said that the need for this show was necessary as the gospel singers in the country were already lagging behind.
“This platform is to put this genre of music in the forefront of the music, hence the necessity to raise talents with genuine gifts. We are not just scouring for those who are interested in making money but for those that will pass the message to the world.”
Speaking further, she said that one of the key ingredients that she will be on the look for as a judge will be,‘originality’. She encouraged the participants not to copy what is in vogue but to try and break free and come up with ideas of their own in the course of the show.
Engr. Charles who spoke at the event thanked the managing director for coming up with the idea of the show stating that the platform was a pace setter and will bridge the gap between secular and gospel music. He noted that most celebrities who arenow in the secular genre of music started as gospel artist, but because there was no back up for them, they quickly moved over and lost focus. He hoped that the people will see the show as a good venture.
With thousands expected to participate in the show, the panel of judges comprising of Rosemary Chukwu, Blessed Samuel, Prince Mich Phillips, Samuel Ndukwe, Engr.Samuel would be saddled with the task of grooming the contestants in search of true talent.
