CHIDOO Hostel, scene of the gruesome murder of two members of the Mafia group, is about four kilometres from the Abia State University (ABSU) gate was yesterday deserted as no single person was sighted near the building.

A passerby, who pleaded anonymity, told Daily Sun that for sometime, the hostel would not have occupants until those who know about the incident would have left the school.

“After that, they would rename the hostel, refurbish it and students who don’t know that such a thing happened, will now go for it. It has happened in some of the hostels here in the past and today people are occupying them,” he said.

Meanwhile, the police said that no arrest has been made, but that they are busy with investigation to unravel what happened.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Onyeke Udeviotu, said that the Commissioner of Police has directed the homicide department of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to commence investigation into the matter.

The Public Relations Officer of the school, Mr Acho Elendu, said the stand of the school on the matter would be made public today.

Recall that a rival cult group, believed to be students of Abia State University, Uturu, who were on a revenge mission over the killing of their leader, buried on Saturday, March 12, 2016, beheaded two alleged members of their rival group and made a public show of their heads in a field near the university gate on Saturday night.

The incident happened, less than 12 hours, after the slain leader of Burkina Faso cult, Collins Agwu, alias Biggy, was buried in his hometown, Arochukwu, Abia North Senatorial zone.

The deceased were 300 level undergraduates of ABSU. The incident happened while the students were writing their first semester examination.
