For young blockchain expert, Ajayi Adeshina, he was raised by his grandmother after his parents divorced. He spent most of his childhood with the knowledge that he wanted not to be poor when he grew up because of what led to his parents separation.
“Money was the problem in my parent’s troubled marriage. That experience and then the desire created and continuously oiled a solid resolve in me to never be poor in life,” he said.
One of the most visible routes available to him as he hoped to avoid the fate of his parents was education. So, Adeshina threw himself into his studies and graduated from the Empowerment College Leadership School, Lagos.
After graduation, Adeshina worked as a business development lead at different firms like The Empowerment Center, Pretien Global, and Niches property Limited.
While doing this, he was also an entrepreneur, co-founding a food company, Straightway Foods, with his wife. “Our company produces and supplies cold-pressed coconut oil to over 20 distributors and supermarts both in Lagos and Ibadan and over 300 end users,” he recalled.
“The company saw a sharp rise in patronage, sales, and returns after I led an activation team of promoters that created massive awareness for the product in different LGAs in Lagos,” Adeshina added.
In the middle of this, the forward-looking young Adeshina has also tried to give back to the community as an educationist.
“I went on to create The Assignment Advocacy Group, a Non – Governmental Organization that was responsible for training 3000 final-year students from four secondary schools in Agege,” he said.
“I also created a center that tutored and helped over 50 students to pass their West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) and Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) who all made it to tertiary institutions and empowered 100 small-scale business owners with skills to grow their Businesses which had an outstanding result that had all of them make over 100% in annual turnovers,” he added.
Now, Adeshina has pivoted to Blockchain technology, using it to expand his business.
In his words, “Harnessing the true power of blockchain technology will be a game changer for Africa’s young people, businesses and governments.”
To ensure that this happens, he is teaching more people about the technology that undergirds blockchain technology.
“I’m a co-trainer and leader at Alpha Training Lab (a blockchain educator and mentorship firm) where I created a mentorship system that has seen more than 500 ordinary Nigerians move from zero to multi-millionaires in one year,” he disclosed.
“I also helped over 200 young people gain relevant skills and in-demand global abilities for creating wealth and financial freedom. I also created a team of 20 blockchain enthusiasts to create Blockchain awareness and adoption in the Agbado Ijaiye area Lagos State,” he concluded.
