All road led to Wellington Hotel, Warri, Deltal State, venue of Delta Talent and Brain reality show that held the city spell bound recently.

Tagged: ‘Sorting Out Raw Talent (SORT)’ , the event was put together by popular comedian, Francis Agoda aka I Go Dye’s Path of Honour (FAPOH) outfit.

Though, the accreditation was billed for 9am, contestants trooped to the venue as early as 7am. But then, over 5,000 youths with PVCs and National Identity cards came to participate.

After thorough screening of the participants by well respected judges, which included popular music act, Faze, comedian Ghana Must Go, OAP Monique and music producer Nas, the show began in earnest.

However, after all said and done, the keenly contested competition was won by comedian Douglas Oghenekaro, who went home with a whopping N500,000 and also became the Delta Talent and Brain Project SORT Warri Ambassador. He will be joined by the first and second runners-up at the grand finale in Asaba.

In his speech, I Go Dye urged the winner and the youths to be of good character and  promote peace and unity of Deltans and Nigeria in general.

The comedian also thanked the governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for supporting the project. “I believe this will help the youths and stop the restiveness, thuggery and other youthful exuberance in the state and in the country at large,” he said.

The high point of the event was when elderly people and celebrities stormed the venue. Among them were notable acts like I Go Save, Maleke and others.

Meanwhile, the audition for the show in Agbor will take place on February 21 and that of Asaba comes up on February 24, with the grand finale taking place in Asaba on February 27, 2019.
