Entrepreneurship is a journey that consists of ever-changing circumstances with twists and turns. Every individual who’s a part of this journey is always adapting, learning and, most important of all, growing every day.

While having a formal education is beneficial for someone who wants to lead a business, there are other experiences in life that may better brace them for their future endeavors. In the world of entrepreneurship, failure and success is a part and parcel of one’s journey, which is also known as self-education.

And, Nabeel Ahmad is an ideal example of how self-education taught him to be a successful entrepreneur today. From as young as Nabeel remembers, he found classroom learning to be extremely brim.

“During high school I was usually absent from classes, simply because I never looked forward to school,” Nabeel said, “but that didn’t deter me from getting the best grades in class, because I studied better on my own.”

Despite the fact that he detested having to attend school, he left to the United States in 2016 to pursue college education. This was when Nabeel realised that college just wasn’t meant for him.

Nabeel says, “I wanted to be an entrepreneur, and I felt the method of teaching in college wouldn’t be able to catch up with the pace of how fast technology was evolving.” Nabeel eventually dropped out of college right after his first semester, and still considers it to be one of the best decisions he made.

This is when his self-education journey began. Nabeel believed that failure is the ultimate road map that leads to success. And so, he started venturing into several types of industries from social media marketing, to crypto trading, to public relations, and much more.

Nabeel wanted to learn what the best people in their fields do. He wanted to have firsthand experience in all of it. The toughest lesson Nabeel learnt was when the cryptocurrency market crashed, as he’d almost lost all of his savings in it.

However, Nabeel didn’t let this failure defeat him, because for someone like Nabeel, failure was a form of self-education. He learnt from it and eventually hit success with another one of his companies, Mogul Press.

Mogul Press is one of the fastest growing PR firms in the PR industry today. Nabeel came up with his own PR model as the traditional guesswork model used by most PR firms, never sat right with him.

Moreover, over these past few years, Nabeel has managed to establish himself as a well known columnist on many top tiered media publications such as Forbes, Entrepreneur Magazine and many more.

This also allowed him to secure coverage for his clients. Nabeel says, “through trial and error, and hundreds of pitches, I managed to bypass the traditional methodologies used by most PR firms which was based on pitching and guesswork.”

By self-educating himself, Nabeel realised that knowing the right people and understanding the art of positioning a story, is the basis of PR. Nabeel shared, “Mogul Press is based on results, not guesswork and our clients only pay for results.”

Today, Nabeel is a successful entrepreneur who is the founder and CEO of Skyray Ventures, a parent company that owns more than 20 companies, most notable of which are Mogul Press, Skyray Media Group, Vertabyte, and Skyray Clout.

Although self-education is often feared, Nabeel believes it to be the best way to truly excel in life. He feels by opening your mind to self-education, you will be able to truly recognize what your destination is and how to get there.
