Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Dr. Samuel Kanu-Uche, has described the on-going impasse between the Federal Government and the Academic Union of Universities (ASUU) as unfortunate. He also condemned government’s decision to drag the union before the court as as jungle justices.

To resolve the over seven-month industrial action, the cleric admonished government to invite the striking lecturers to a round table talk and grant their demands.

Government, he said, can also involve credible traditional rulers such as Sultan of Sokoto, Obi of Onitsha, church leaders and others to mediate in the matter, so that students can go back to school.
